Minutes: David Bettoney Parish Clerk

Present – Councillors Mr J Welsby [Chairman] Mr M Bostock Rev H Castle Mrs E Eden Mr B Hollingsworth Mr L H G Livingstone-Learmonth

1. Apologies for absence - Apologies received from Councillor Dr N Burgess – prior appointment

2. Minutes of last meeting on 8th October 2007 - the minutes were approved and signed as a true record

3. Reminder to Councillors as to declarations of interest- Councillor Welsby indicated that he had a personal and prejudicial interest in the planning application at 5.

4. To receive any update on the status of the Parish Council newsletter and consider what steps to take in future. The Council was informed that villagers found the Parish Council newsletter of benefit but that the PCC was not able to continue to distribute it. The Parish Council expressed its gratitude for past help. Resolved to seek further views as to how the newsletter might be continued including transmission by e-mail or by link to website

5. To consider planning applications from Mid Devon District Council

This item was moved to be taken last. Councillor Welsby left the meeting and the Chair was taken by Councillor Eden.

07/02022/FULL Burston Mews Zeal Monachorum – revised scheme. Resolved: that the as the revised scheme was to tidy the site by removal of redundant buildings and to establish boundaries between the four properties [as required by the Planning Department] the Council supported the application.

6. Account for payment Information Commissioner - £35. Cheques were raised for this and £80 to Zeal Monachorum Village Hall Committee for hire of hall.

7. Correspondence received – acknowledgment in respect of payments made to PCC [Churchyard and Clock] - Noted

8. Date of next meeting – to be held at 730pm on 19th November 2007 in the village hall. Councillor M Squires from Mid Devon District Council had indicated that she would attend if possible and asked that she be sent a copy of the agenda.
